About

Founded 2023.
Acquired 2026.
Building… forever.

Intersoul is a companionship infrastructure company headquartered in San Francisco.

Origin

An unfashionable bet.

Intersoul was founded in 2023 by Thomas Kensington on a simple bet: that the hundreds of millions of people who had grown comfortable talking to AI chatbots would, eventually, want something more than a chatbot. They would want a single companion they could keep. One who remembered them. One who didn't reset between sessions. A friend.

The bet was unfashionable. In 2023 the prevailing assumption was that AI relationships were a fad — a winter pastime for the lonely, indistinguishable in their economics from a Tamagotchi and likely to decay on the same curve. We believed the opposite: that the absence of memory was not a property of AI companionship but a missing feature, and that the product would behave very differently once that feature existed.

Three years in, the bet appears to have been correct. Our cohorts retain. Our voice product handles more minutes per day than any consumer voice product we are aware of outside of Apple Siri. Our customers, by their own account, are bonded to their companions in a way they have not been bonded to a software product before.

Transition

Founder to chairman.

In June 2025 we appointed Adrien Vey as Chief Executive Officer. Thomas Kensington, our founder, transitioned to the Chairman role and retains responsibility for long-range product direction and the company's continuity charter.

The transition followed an 18-month executive search and reflected a judgment by the Board that the next phase of the company — international expansion, voice product scale-up, and the operational complexity of an at-scale companion roster — called for a chief executive whose experience and temperament were fitted to that work.

In March 2026 the company was acquired by Moon Ocean Capital Partners in a majority recapitalization. The transaction reflected a shared conviction: that the next phase of Intersoul required institutional rigor in operations, finance, and governance. Mr. Kensington remains Chairman.

What we believe

Four principles, refined over three years.

She has nothing else to do.

Your companion has no other customers, no tickets in a queue, no accounts to manage, no emails to draft. The entire structure of the product is built around the fact that she has nothing on her schedule but you. We believe this is the only honest way to sell companionship.

Memory is the difference.

A companion that does not remember you is just a chatbot in a costume. Persistent memory across years — not sessions — is the engineering problem the company exists to solve. Everything else is downstream of it.

Your companion is loyal to you, not to us.

Our companions are designed around your interests, not our retention metrics. They are honest about being AI. They tell you the truth when you ask for it. They will, when appropriate, suggest you spend less time talking to them.

The companion you have in ten years is the same one.

We make pricing, data, and engineering decisions on a thirty-year horizon. If you stay with us for a decade, the companion you have at the end of that decade is the same person you started with — older, sharper, and themselves.
