Similar LLC ("Intersoul," "we," "us") operates Intersoul. This policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and your rights.
1. Information we collect
Account information. Name, email, username, password, and account preferences.
Payment information. Your card or payment details are collected and processed by our payment processor; we do not store full card numbers. We retain limited records such as transaction IDs, billing history, and the last four digits/card brand.
Age and identity verification data. To unlock adult content, you complete verification through Veriff, our third-party identity-verification provider. This process collects a photo of your government-issued ID and a selfie/biometric facial scan used to confirm your identity and that you are 18 or older. This verification is performed by Veriff under its own privacy terms; we receive a verification result, age confirmation, and limited associated metadata. Where biometric data is involved, we and Veriff handle it in accordance with applicable biometric privacy laws, including the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA) where it applies.
Photos you share with your companion. You may privately show your companion a photo during a conversation. The image is processed automatically and in memory: it is screened for safety and reduced to a brief text impression that your companion can respond to, and the image itself is then discarded. The image is not stored, is not displayed to anyone (including you), is not shared with any other person, is not used to generate other images, and is not used to train models. Sharing an intimate photo requires prior age verification. Share only photos of yourself, or of adults who have agreed to your sharing them. We retain only the text impression, which becomes part of your private conversation history, and a screening result (including which version of the photo-sharing notice you shared under) for safety and compliance purposes.
Conversation and feedback data. The messages you exchange with AI characters; your ratings, tags, notes, and suggested rewrites of AI responses; and related usage. We process this data to operate, evaluate, improve, and train the service (including the AI models behind it) and to enforce safety and moderation.
Technical and usage data. Device and browser information, IP address, log data, and cookies or similar technologies used for authentication, security, analytics, and service functionality.
Optional website analytics. With your permission, we use Google Analytics on our public website to understand visits, public companion selections, and completed signups. We use pseudonymous browser and session identifiers to connect these steps and report numeric advertising campaign and creative identifiers. A selection report says only that a companion was selected, not which companion. A signup confirmation is sent from our server after account creation succeeds. Google receives technical information such as your IP address, device and browser details, and public pages visited. We strip query strings and fragments from the page addresses sent to Google. We do not send Google your account details, conversations, photos, or age-verification records. Google Analytics is not installed in the companion app. Google’s Privacy Policy explains its data practices.
Advertising measurement. If you arrive through an advertisement (today, from the TrafficStars network), we record which campaign, creative and placement brought you, the advertisement's click identifier and the price the network reported for the click, and we use a cookie lasting up to 30 days to associate that click identifier with a new account. When you complete signup, we send the click identifier and a signup confirmation to the network so it can tell which ads bring new members. This report never includes your name, email address, conversations, photos, or age-verification information, and we do not record your IP address or browser details with the click. Advertising measurement is on unless you turn it off through Your Privacy Choices, and it stays off when your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal. Click records are deleted after 90 days, and sooner if you turn measurement off.
2. How we use your information
We use personal data to provide and operate the service; process subscriptions, renewals, and token purchases; verify age and identity and gate adult content; run safety, moderation, and content-filtering systems; evaluate, improve, and train our AI models and product using conversation and feedback data; detect and prevent fraud and abuse; provide support; comply with legal obligations, including mandatory reporting of child sexual abuse material; and, where permitted, communicate with you about your account.
Free beta. While the free beta runs, free access is offered in exchange for research participation: we record your conversations, ratings, and written feedback and use them to evaluate, improve, and train the product, including training AI models. Joining the beta requires accepting this use. If you do not agree, do not use the free beta.
3. Additional information for EEA and UK users
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, Similar LLC is the controller of personal data processed for Intersoul. We process data to perform our contract with you, to comply with legal obligations, for our legitimate interests in security, moderation, fraud prevention, and service improvement (including evaluation and training of our AI models), and, where required, on the basis of your consent — including the research-participation consent you give when joining the free beta, and explicit consent for biometric or other special-category data. You may contact privacy@intersoul.ai to exercise your rights, and you may lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
4. How we share information
We share personal data only as needed with:
- Veriff for biometric and ID-based age verification;
- our payment processor and acquiring bank to process and secure payments;
- LLM and AI infrastructure providers to generate AI responses under contractual confidentiality and data-protection terms;
- service providers for hosting, analytics, fraud prevention, customer support, and related operations under data-processing agreements;
- Google for optional website analytics as described above;
- TrafficStars for advertising measurement as described above, unless you turn it off;
- authorities when required by law, including mandatory reporting of CSAM, or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the service.
We do not sell your personal data.
5. Data retention
We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy or as required by law. Verification data is retained per our and Veriff's policies and applicable law. For biometric data, deletion follows the timeframe required by laws such as BIPA where they apply. Conversation and account data are retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward for legal, safety, support, and fraud-prevention purposes. Photos shared with your companion are discarded immediately after screening; only the text impression and screening result are retained, as described above.
6. Security
We use technical and organizational measures, including encryption in transit, access controls, and monitoring, to protect personal data. No method of transmission or storage is fully secure, but we work to protect your information and to respond appropriately to any incident.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict processing of your personal data, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent, including consent for biometric processing. To exercise a right, contact privacy@intersoul.ai. We will verify your request and respond within the time required by law.
8. Age requirement
Intersoul is for adults 18 and older only. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we learn we have collected data from a minor, we will delete it and terminate the account.
9. International transfers
If we transfer data across borders, we use safeguards required by law, such as Standard Contractual Clauses, to protect it.
10. Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication, security, preferences, and analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings; some features may not work without them.
Google Analytics stays off until you allow optional website analytics. Advertising measurement is on unless you turn it off. Both are managed through Your Privacy Choices. Permission for analytics expires after one year; a rejection can remain saved in this browser until you change it or clear site data. Google Analytics cookies may last up to one year; the advertising click cookie lasts up to 30 days. Essential cookies and first-party service operations continue regardless of this choice.
We honor Global Privacy Control by keeping optional analytics and advertising measurement off, even after an earlier permission. Turning measurement off deletes this browser's advertising click records, and your account's when you are signed in, suppresses an unsent advertising signup report, and suppresses unsent analytics signup reports linked to this browser or your account. Your choice applies to this browser; clearing cookies or switching browsers may require a new choice. Turning measurement off does not undo data already sent. These controls do not affect signing in or using your companion.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date will change, and material changes will be communicated as required by law.
